This is the first in a series of installation works where I worked with a slip-cast natural element (teasel) to create simulated natural environments. The color and scale of this piece, and its placement in the corner of the gallery create a specific illusive experience. The wall color was carefully chosen to create the effect wherein the shadows of the actual "plants" seem to visual extend the depth of the piece. The sculpture becomes the space and vice versa.

This piece is a theater intended for one viewer at a time. The space is shaped like a lens (in plan) so that when someone enters the space and the curtain shuts, their entire field of view is taken up by the environment in which they are standing. Like Aggregate, the landscape seems to go on and on; however, in this piece, the use of a uv backlit drop extends the space so that it looks like a large field at night, and the viewer is in the middle of it, in a completely other space, much more outdoor than indoor.
